Industry: Calcium Products / Quick Lime (CaO)
Products Provided: Custom 1,100 kg FIBC bulk bags with top filling spout, four lifting loops, closing tie cord, sewn-in document pouch and export marking
Our client is a calcium comprehensive-utilisation enterprise in Guangxi, China, producing quick lime (CaO) for domestic and export markets. Quick lime is not an easy cargo to pack: it is strongly alkaline, generates heavy dust when filling, and reacts with moisture — generating heat and expanding in volume, which degrades activity and creates a real burn and fire risk in the warehouse. At the same time, each bag carries 1,100 kg, so the lifting system has to survive repeated crane handling between plant, truck, port and vessel. The client was also supplying export orders where every bag must show net weight, gross weight, batch number, production date and expiry date. They needed one bag design that closed all of these gaps at once.
Project Challenges
Our Custom Solution
① Bag geometry matched to the 1,100 kg fill: 900 × 900 × 1,220 mm body — approximately 0.99 m³ — sized so that 1,100 kg of quick lime fills the bag without over-stressing the base seams.
② Top filling spout: 450 mm opening diameter with a 500 mm spout length, so the client's filling head seats into the spout and the material falls straight into the bag instead of across the filling bay.
③ Closing system: 600 mm tie cord on the spout — the bag is tied off immediately after filling, closing the main moisture path before the bag leaves the filling station.
④ Four-loop lifting system: 300 mm loop height, 750 mm loop span, and 300 mm stitching on both the loop seams and the crane-lift seams, dimensioned to the client's spreader so the bag hangs level and the stitch lines are not the weakest point.
⑤ Sewn-in document pouch: A clear document pouch stitched to the bag face carries the inspection certificate and batch sheet, so the paperwork cannot be separated from the bag in transit.
⑥ Export marking: NATRIO brand layout at 550 × 575 mm, printed with product name, N.W. 1,100 KGS, G.W. 1,102 KGS, BATCH, PRODUCTION DATE, EXPIRY DATE and MADE IN CHINA — a net bag weight of about 2 kg. The expiry field matters for quick lime because activity decays with storage time, and the buyer needs that date on the bag, not on a separate sheet.
The Results
After switching to our custom Spout Top Bulk Bags, the client achieved:
✔ Filling is done directly through the 450 mm spout, keeping material inside the bag and dust inside the filling head instead of across the bay.
✔ The 750 mm loop span and 300 mm seam lengths match the client's spreader, so 1.1-tonne lifts hang level with no webbing slip at the stitch line.
✔ Tying off the spout immediately after filling closes the primary moisture path and reduces slaking risk during storage and sea transit.
✔ The document pouch keeps the inspection certificate and batch sheet with the bag, and the printed batch / production / expiry fields give the buyer lot-level traceability without re-labelling.
✔ Export orders ship with a compliant marking block printed at source, removing a secondary labelling step at the warehouse.
